Since I am having very good luck with this New Radio Shack Antenna. I am thinking about installing one on my Truck. I don't care just how funny it looks. I just want to hear my Railroad Signals because right now I am starting to loose faith in my Railcom Antennas. I mean the Antenna picks up Great. Any thoughts?

I wonder what the wind load might be. I couldn't find anything in the specs to indicate that. How you mount it obviously would be crucial. I had a homemade one similiar to that mounted and cut to the 146mhz Amateur Band in the attic of my former residence and, had excellent receiving results on up to 160mhz through the 460mhz band. If you go through with this please let us know how it works.

It's unity gain, meaning 0 db over say a 5/8 wave which is around 3. How is the Railcom antenna not working out? Is is a mag mount or is it body mounted to the cab? Is the shielding pulling away from the antenna connection?
