Radio Shack Pro 106 Iowa Racom System

Hi Gang,

I'm trying to get my pro 106 scanner set up for monitoring the Iowa's Racom Edacs trunking network, my scanner has two settings for EDACS, Edacs Standard and Edacs narrow, Dubuque County Iowa is still on analog edacs. If someone could help me get it set up I would appreciate it

If Dubuque County Iowa is still using Analog, then just program your frequency & department in to the
( CONV ) programing settings.in your scanner. Do you know how to do that ?

It is a standard system.

Start with "premium" subscription, then choose RACOM site nearest your location download it along with the talk groups you want to listen to and you should be in business. Should you want to listen to other sites download them separately.

Being an EDACS system make sure you put in all the frequencies in the order given for the Grant County RACOM site.

Yes, but what the OP wants to monitor is all analog according to the database so he should be able to monitor those talkgroups.

if they were to swich over to edacs digital what setting would I have to have it in

It all depends on what digital format they choose. If it's Provoice or Phase II you won't be able to monitor with your Pro 106.
