I have purchased the cd and usb cord to program my new radio shack pro-106 and it won't load into my scanner. I have found my county and all the sites and can't get it to load on my scanner. Please, is there anyone out there that can help me. I am tired of getting recordings when I call radio shack.

What software program are you using?

Have you verified that the drivers for the USB cable are properly installed, and your computer has assigned a COMM port to the cable?

Look in your computer's device manager to see which comm port the cable is using.

Use the link listed above, go the the Comments Column, click setup executable (2.08.24 WHQL Certified).

Download this file, then run the file with the cable not plugged in, after running the file plug in the cable, go to device manager and see if the cable appears and what com port it is assigned to.

You should be good to go now.

I looked on the device manager and it said the port it was on. com3. I looks like it is loading on my scanner, green light on, but nothing is on scanner from my county. What should my scanner be set on when it is loading. It is on scanning when I turn it on. Should I put it on something else.

I am using the the cd that came with the usb driver. Butel scanner programming software. Is there something else I can use?
