That antenna is innapropriate for the task at hand, not to mention not being portable, which is one reason to use a handheld in the first place.
Save your money for something designed for scanning / radio use - you are looking / being led to the wrong part of the store.
An inexpensive upgrade to the included antenna with the Pro-135, which is only tuned for the 156 mhz business band would be:
Model # 20-006 Center-Loaded Telescoping whip.
Model #20-034 High Performance VHF/UHF scanner antenna which is a 9-inch rubber duck tuned to the more popular scanning bands. It is not current stock, but some stores may have it locally on the shelf, installed on demos, or in their local inventory as #20-0034 (TWO zeros, 3, 4). A great improvement for only around $10 or so.
Obviously there are a lot of antennas you can use, but if you want to walk out of the store relatively inexpensively with a nice antenna upgrade, these are two good options.
