Hello everyone.
Yesterday, I picked up a Radio Shack Pro-2002 for free. It looked to be in pretty good shape but when I got home and plugged it in via the 120v plug, I got all sorts of 60 cycle hum. Also, after it warms up a bit, the hum becomes more of a buzz.
First, how would I stop that humming/buzzing.
Second, when I turn on the clock, I am unable to program it, and it just flashes E000.0000
Third, I have tried to manually enter a frequency, but after I hit enter, I get “error”

I would like to get this up and running again, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

That sounds like a bad capacitor. Some of these older scanners had a large electrolytic capacitor which goes bad over time.

Replace the 9 volt backup battery, then you'll be able to prog the clock. Just discovered this today. Got a Pro 2002 from Shopgoodwill.com for $10.
