I asked for some help in the trunking forum but got zero responses. Can someone give me some tips on what to enter for trunking system type and group ID?
Just got the data cable hooked up a little while ago and a little help will go a long way. Thanks

More info needed

Do you have a 2051 or a 2052?

Is your first message a screenshot of what you have programed?

2051.

Yes, that is one of the things I tried. I have it set for EDACS Wide currently, but it still doesnt work. I'm really not sure what to do now.

I can see several things wrong in the programing.

The channels must be in sequence on edacs systems in order for them to track.

How do you see how many sites there are?
I see site 001, 002, 015.

I want to listen to regular police chatter.. does that mean I have to program all of this crap??
LOL .. I'm not trying to be difficult.

No you won't need to program all that stuff.

For some reason your link gave me the san antonio page. Now I have the right info. I need to digest the info a second or several.

Good News and Bad News.

The bad news up front is: By looking at the database file for Corpus Christi area, some of it might be digital voice. The 2051 will not decode Digital.

On the other hand there is also analog with those sites. You should be able to hear those.

The Basics: Each site must go in a seperate bank. The freqs. have to be in order with an edacs system in order for it to track. I'm going to use site 015 (Flour Bluff) for example.

Just say you will use bank 1 for this. In the database there are a set of freqs. listed for each site. These freqs. are preceeded by a number (01-866.0875). The first two digits are the order number.

Bank 1:

Ch. 01 program freq. 866.0875
Ch. 02 program freq. 866.7500
Ch. 03 program freq. 867.1125
Ch. 04 program freq. 866.2750
Ch. 05 program freq. 866.4375
Ch. 06 program freq. 867.6625
Ch. 07 program freq. 868.2375
Ch. 08 program freq. 868.4250
Ch. 09 program freq. 868.5875
Ch. 10 program freq. 868.8375

Do you see what I mean?

I managed to get it working, but there's not much activity going on.
I'm not sure how much of it is digital, would it still sound like the EDACS 9600 if it were digital?

I'm not sure with edacs. The only thing we have around here is Motorola APCO-25. On non digital scanner its sounds very broken and scattered static. Plus I'm not even sure if the PRO-96 or 2096 can decode the PRO VOICE edacs.

There is a member on here goes by "UPMAN" I think. Seems to be a real wiz at this stuff. Might find him on the UNIDEN forum.
