Radio Shack Pro 2096 base scanner antenna

My base unit wont pick up the new 800 mhz that the local police went to. The enhanced 800 rubber antenna does work on my Pro 96 hand held unit. Does the 2096 base unit need a more powerful antenna to get the p25 system?

the 2096 was no better receiving than 2095. the current trend now is mini yagi mounted vertically and get close to the tower. stick your cc in as a conventional channel turn the squelch in and listen for that cc sound and you will know when you are catching the tower. buy to remember also the 2096 does not support 700.

So what type of mini yagi antenna do I need? I looked them up and saw 2.4g? Can you explain the rest, not sure what cc means and it doesn't support 700 what? I'm assuming 700 mhz?
