I own one and it is worth it. If you can get it at a fairly good price. They retailed for around $300 or more when they first came out. It's a very good air band scanner. Great for airshows. So if it is reasonable, go for it!

Hey,
does the Pro-43 have a rechargable battery? If not can someone give me all the battery information(cells, volts, amps etc...), so I can have some rechargables made?
Six AA cells.

Ok, I just got it and Im excited to use it! I haven't read the manual just yet.

Could someone tell me how I can tune just one specific freq. (118.350)?

The thing I can get it to do right now is scan and it seems to only be scanning the 800MHz range.

Thanks

See my response on the other forum. But in answer to this:
Code:
1. Press MANUAL. Enter the channel number you want to program, the press PGM. PGM appears on the display to indicate the scanner is in the programming mode.

2. Enter a frequency.

3. Press ENTER to store the frequency.
If you made a mistake in Step 2, ERROR appears on the display. Press CLEAR and repeat Step 2.

4. Press AM/FM to set the receive mode to the correct setting for the frequency.

5. If you want the scanner to pause 2 seconds after each transmission before scanning to the next channel, press DELAY so DLY appears in the display.

6. Repeat Steps 1-5 to program more channels. To program the next channel in sequence, press PGM and repeat Steps 2-5. To change the programming direction, press [up] or [down] arrow before you press PGM.

Try visiting RadioShack.com - you might be able to find the manual for the PRO-43 in electronic format. It's been a while since I've looked there, so this might have changed, but some of the manuals are listed by catalog number (12-#### or whatever) instead of the PRO-## numbers that most people know, so the correct manual listing might not be obvious.

The owner's manual is not available on line at the RS web site. :(

However there are several other documents, including the one I got that instruction set from, there.
