Looking for a combo squelch, volume, on/off control for the pro651 scanner.
They don’t have the part. But thanks anyways.Try DigiKey
The radio just does not pick up anything except the weather. I was told by G&G that it neeeded a new squelch/volume/on off control. In the past it was reported those are proprietary and not off the shelf.
Is it because your experiencing static, when you adjust them? If so, they ALL do that even back when Radio shack sold em that were made by GRE. Some have mentioned before about literally drilling a tiny hole from the inside and spray electronic tuner spray. Risk of course is destroying the mechanism. Again if just static, something going to have live with.

It sounds to me like the connection between the antenna BNC and the PCB is broken. NOAA Wx may be close/strong enough that you're able to receive it anyway. The radio just does not pick up anything except the weather. I was told by G&G that it neeeded a new squelch/volume/on off control.
I can pay someone to clean it or whatever but I'm too novice at this to try it myself..
If your not capable doing the work yourself (attempting to 'clean' the multi-pot/switch'), send it in and pay the bill. Thats about your only option if you want to keep the radio. Another option, sell the radio and buy a new 'more capable' radio. Good luck.

I'm just going on what I was told when I sent it to G&G.My bet it is the connection to the BNC jack. It's a common issue with this series of scanners.
Going foward I have an older PRO-106 with this issue. Just need some time to open it to fix it.
I have tried both types of antennas. Weird thing is my Whistler 1040 and Pro 652 pick up everything just fine that I have programmed into it.It would help if you told us what county you are trying to get. Since your a premium subscriber one can assume your using that and software to program from the database?
If its a simulcast system, likely thats the problem as those radios are terrible getting those. I've had people suffer the same issues as you on nearby 4 tower systems with that model and the WS1040.
There are plenty listed as simulcast, 21 in all - Palmetto 800 Trunking System, Various, South Carolina

If your using an 800 MHz antenna, remove it and put on the stock antenna. Less is more in simulcast, even to the point of a paperclip antenna -

The Paper Clip Antenna
to clear up the p25 sytem in KCMO...have to take off the 800meg....and use the paper clip antenna...cut's down on the overload of the simulcast system... pro 106 pro 197forums.radioreference.com
Also if your in simulcast, plenty of ideas here,
Thanks for the info.I haven't been on the bench in years, but I don't see how the on-off/vol/sq pot could cause it to only receive the weather transmitter.
