Hello,

Lively discussion over there as well. Wow.

Thanks to all the people who are helping out supporting my small utility. It had a shaky start, but others contributed in finding ways to make it work. Thanks again.

73 Eric

Again, thank you Eric. If you wouldn't have experimented and found how to load the firmware and created the utility, we'd all still have regular PSR-800's, Pro668's or Pro18's. You are THE MAN!

I am very sorry. Those of you that have sent me PMs and I have not replied, forgive me. I have been very sick today. My bp is through the roof, and my heart rate is 130-150. I keep passing out for long periods. I have lower abdominal pain, and a low grade fever. They are taking me to the hospital. Very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

Does anyone know how muskrat39 is doing?

I'm sure it buried somewhere in the thread, but just how does one restore back if the results aren't acceptable?

Wo, you the first person to say the results are unacceptable...are you sure in settings, you selected your scanner model for scanner type? and 1080 for firmware? and you did not use the download firmware icon as that loads firmware 4.4 and as of now only 3.8 works.

To rollback in settings set scanner type is your scanner model and under firmware.also select your scanner model. the rest the process is the same but you must select the bin file with your scanner model in it.

Actually, I haven't attempted it yet - I wanted to wait and see what others were reporting. Where exactly do I find my current 668 firmware bin file?

Notice he said "if". Probably just a "just in case" question.

It is in your scanner and in the grefwtool that eric made.

No reason to go back to it.once you upgrade. Scanning is a much better experience with the upgrade. Added features, better software, more adjustments, better reception just to name a few.

I slightly remember posts where people were questioning what Eric was doing, mentioning Whistler was going to come after him (even though he wrote a program to upload THEIR firmware)...So, would those that bashed away care to post if THEY upgraded hearings all the positive results....
