What does the "S" in the flashing box mean on the "new" 1080? Does that have to do with DMR?

Pro668 works for sure.
Testing the PRO-18. Not much dig or DMR here, did see one hit on DMR. But it is now a 1080 complete with clock and V scanners!

So outside of the color LED, an old PRO-18 is now the same radio as a new 1080. Interesting.

Hi,

Does anyone have CPU 3.8 and DSP 3.0 or could tell me where to find it?

Thanks,

Rich

Hello,

I misspoke when I said CPU 4.1 worked. I reran some tests and found that CPU 3.9 and later did not work. Unfortunately I have not used the PSR-800 or Pro-668 for receiving P25 or DMR recently. I only tested that the firmware loading worked.

That is why this is very experimental and not mainstream. The firmware is not supported on these platforms, so any update can break something.

3.0 and 3.8 do seem to work properly on the 668 and 18. Have not yet done my 800. Better do this before Whistler updates the CPU and breaks this.

And they both do show "charging". Testing that now to see if it is true.

Hello,

I guess it was the right decision to go with a two step solution. As long as you have the WS-1080 CPU 3.8 bin file, you can update the 800. The problem is being stuck at 3.8, which does not seem too bad for non-UK users.

No big deal. My PRO-18's worked fine with the firmware from who knows when. Years ago.

Hello,

The PSR-800 appeared to charge, but the display seemed a little wonky. I would suggest you turn it off in the Pro-18. The Pro-668 seemed to work okay.

Do you think they could have changed something knowing you were able to flash different devices with the firmware?

I haven't updated my DSP. I'm still on 2.1. Does it make sense to upgrade it?
