Are you talking about that static you hear when you first turn it on without any frequencies programmed in? That simply involves turning the squelch knob clock-wise. Not sure what else you might be talking about....let us know exactly what you mean (like what frequencies you are trying to monitor, if it is trunked or not, etc. )
