Radio Shack pro-96 question

Sometimes when im listing to the apco-25 digital i will refer to this as when central keys up or a car sometimes the scanner sounds like the squelch is opening then i will here them talk about half way thru the the person talking. I updated the scanner with the new firmware update and seemed to do it more often so i put it back to the orginal. Do others people scanners do this or is it just the apco-25 digital itself. and i know that the scanner is not to close to the tower because i live about 7 miles from the tower.

Update

Mine did the same thing after installing the recent firmware update. All I did was go to the radio shack website and downloaded the 1.2 update and use that. Mine seems to do better with that particular one.

good to know im not the only one having the problem and when i did the firmware update it happen more so i too stuck with the 1.2 version.
