The Pro-99 is on sale for $49.99, I picked up one for myself this past Tuesday, but also just received this Friday the bcd396t (read: no mo money). It's basic but it's nice, I like the separate v/sq even though it's stacked, lit display & keypads. Not a bad deal I'd say. Picked up the last Pro-97 for my cousin at the mentioned sale price, but brought it back, it looked like the v/sq knob was slightly bent, making it hard to turn both, so got her a Pro-99.
One thing, I pick up the State Police just fine, but not picking up the local sheriff's. Might try another antenna or even an outside but wouldn't want reception overload (?). I've read about some of the other antennas, so will see. Picked up one for my dad & brother also, my father being 81 and can't get around like he used to. I'll program them, maybe get some better antennas for them too.
