I went to pick up some rechargables last night and the man there said if you buy a charger you get the batteries 1/2 off. I got the 15 min charger for 19.97 and then 3 packs of 4 in a pack AA's for like 5 bucks a pack. Very good deal I think.

You will know if you got a good deal after you have a chance to run the batteries and charger for awhile and see the actual run-time you get out of your radio on the batteries.

What was the mah rating of the batteries?

The batteries are AA at 2500Ah each, and the batteries only lasted 90 minutes the first time in my PSR 800.

I just picked up one of the 23-788 15 minute chargers including 4 AA and 4 AAA batteries for $14.37 on clearance (regular $44.99) at a corporate owned Radio Shack. Awesome deal. Better grab them while you can!

This may just be me but I've had horrible luck with Radio Shack's rechargeable. I fully charge and discharge them every time and yet they die (as in will no longer charge) after about 6 months. I've switched over to Eneloops and couldn't be happier.

The AC/DC charger is fine, the batteries are useless. I even charged the AA in a slow charger and got three hours on my PSR 800.

On a whim I picked up a set of cheap Harbor Freight AA NiMH batteries on sale for $5.99 and they've lasted longer than any other brand I've tried in my PRO-106. I got 10+ hours out of the first charge (backlight off) and they work great with a 15 minute charger.

You'd think they would be the worst of the bunch, but they seem to work great!
