Radio Shack Sales

Do the Radio Shack sales on scanners usually last about a month? The prices listed in the sale catalog for April-May state, "Prices effective Thursday, Apr 21st - Wednesday, May 25th" I was wondering if they issue different items on sale around the same date every month like around the 20th or so? Anyone have any info? Was hoping to see the 96 drop in the next sale. I am assuming that the 83 and 2051 will go back to the regular price after May 25th?? Anyone know?

You have missed way to many good deals on a used PRO-96 while waiting for Radio Shack to put one on sale. Face the fact that if you really want one then you will have to shell out the $500 or take someone up on a $300 or $350 used one that you keep passing up. Or check places like scannermaster for a good deal on a new one.

Sales generally run 28 days, so starting and ending dates vary from month to month. You can sign up for email notifications of sales on the Radio Shack website. The website also has coupons for sale prices on items not advertised. As I recall, awhile back there was a $50 coupon on the 96, making the price $449. It's worth checking on a regular basis.

I know I keep passing on some great deals. Like the nearly new 96 one on ebay for $300 a day or so ago. Man I feel like an a** sometimes but, I am also a tight wad :lol: If I am going to drop $500 +, I am going to wait on the 396.

I'd love to have an 83 just for a simple back up but not willing to pay the price it is either which is a great price for the scanner but like stated earlier, tight wad here. :lol:

I was just curious as to how the sales at RS worked. Thanks for the replies.
