Radio Shack trying to get rid of a lot of scanners?

I have been noticing lately on their website mainly but somewhat in the stores themselves, they are having way more sales that I have ever seen at one time.

Are they most likely going to introduce new scanners and are trying to get rid of the old?

Or do they just have a bunch of sales at once every year?

I've noticed the Pro-164, Pro-135, and Pro-136, mainly the last two though, constantly keep being put back on sale right after the previous sale expired.

Not sure what you saw. Currently they're showing 19 different scanners on their web site, with only 3 on sale. Maybe they were updating the site.

It seems to me that the original context of the thread pertains to Radio Shack scanners ON SALE (available at a reduced price). That does not include all the scanners that are FOR SALE (available to be purchased).

That's exactly what I was asking.

I was curious if it appeared Radio Shack was getting rid of scanners for newer models or if they always have bunch of sales at one time.

I know it's only 3 on sale right now, but last week it was at least 6 one sale, then 4 the week before, etc.

Given the present state of the economy, it's a little hard to draw any conclusions about why a particular retailer might be having a sale other than the obvious need to increase business in tough times. Things like scanners are probably not selling as well as they would like and one way to increase sales is to have sales. It also gets people in the stores so that they might buy other things.
