I just arrived home from my local radio shack store which is in the Toledo market. I was looking for simple PL-256 connectors that I figured was not going to be to hard to find. Going into the store around opening time, they were not busy and was met at the door by a salesperson. I asked for the connectors and was told that Radio Shack is no longer stocking "radio stuff" in all of their stores. He said that only selected stores would be stocking these parts.
If this person is right, how has a store like Radio Shack went down so quickly? I understand that the demand is not as high as TV sales; but, ITS RADIO SHACK! I worked in the Toledo market about 12 years ago when the stores even had amateur equipment and scanners that were turned on for people to hear.
So they will not be stocking a $3.00 item; but, I would bet they will all have the new top dollar scanner equipment with out anyone that knows how to use them.
I appologize for my rant, I figured someone else here could appreciate it. Looks like it is mostly internet orders now for these parts. If there is someone here from Radio Shack that can correct this information, please do so. This was coming from two people in the same store.
