Hello all, My name is Scott. I live in Las Vegas. I am new to the radio world. I have an SDR, and am jut playing around. I keep seeing local radio stations playing around 25 - 26 MHZ. Why does this happen? Is it normal for stations to bleed onto lower frequencies? Well thank you everyone for any assistance in understanding this.

Hi Scott, I found that intermediate, as I call it is very bad when I come into town . From so. cal.
And really bad in the downtown area. But once I pas the lake mead cut off it starts to disappear.
Long story short to me it's just a part of scanning game in the valley.
Lots to monitor there my son lives now in Henderson and a fair amount of noise there too.
Good luck.

so it is not remote broadcast stations in the 25 and 26 Mhz range ?
25.87 to 26.47 20khz steps.
Definitely not, that's actually a common issue with SDRs that don't have much front end to get broadcast FM images in that exact range. That's all CB freeband these days, very rare to see anything normal actually using that range anymore, specially with all the interference they would get.

The solution is either get an FM notch filter if you need to receive anything down there or just ignore it otherwise though the filter can often help with reception in other parts of the spectrum as well like VHF aviation. HPN-30118 Combined Notch Filter | Scanner Master

so, that fact that the FCC gave them the use of those frequencies, they could not use them ?
and many folks don't even know that they could be used.
yes, i know that SDR is not the best at filtering, but what if a radio station is heard and only thought to be interference, but is an actual transmission ?
5 freqs active licensed in Nevada
21 active licenses for use in California for remote broadcast.
i am just saying that is could be an actual transmission.
