Radio testing all day on City of Norman

The radio techs who have been working on the State DPS radio upgrades have been ungrading the City of Norman system. Working on upgrading Quantar stations to "Astro
CAI" capability and Smartzone. Heard remarks about Securenet can't be used now just Astro CAI and analog.

City of Norman will be going to D.P.S. 800mhz T.R.S. so it looks like it's going up..

That is correct - SmartZone 4.1 does not support the hold analog securenet. If they wish to use encryption, it will have to be a P-25 digital encryption algorithm.

Further chit chat amongst the techs tonight tells of a visit to Coweta, Stillwater and one other site I am not sure about "mid-something?? All of this Friday and Saturday or so.
Also someones going to Edmond maybe friday to work on that system. They are still working as of 2242.

Good job! Keep us advised on what you are hearing. I would like to know when they are going to put up the Sapulpa site?

No the Dispatch T.G.s will half to stay Analog for. D.P.S. that's what I was told anyway..

I've been listening to them testing on TG: 39600 on Tulsa for the last hour. Mainly technical stuff about getting certain channels working and adjusting deviation for the channels. I don't know which site they're working from though.
