The radio techs have been doing radios tests on TAEMA Sirens 453.675
Sounds like they are trying to link it with the 800 because at times it sounds like an 800 transmission. Does anyone know what they are trying to do? I didn't think that they used this frequency for voice anymore. Sounds like they can do both sirens and voice communication.

Don't know what sirens Tulsa has, but some of the newer units here in Stillwater can accept and rebroadcast voice. Thus, an alert tone can be sent to get everybody's attention, followed by voice instructions. Imagine a train derailment - select sirens in the area send an attention-getting tone, followed by emergency evacuation instructions for the residents of the area. Stillwater is slowly replacing all their older sirens with these:

Now, is that cool, or what! 8)

LOL you guys crack me up! Mark, you are probably correct. They might be testing for the TAEMA or 911 dispatchers to have the ability to anounce an emergency as well as sound the sirens. I'll listen further and let you know what I hear. Thanks...
