• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Bob Brehm also with a sale if you make a local hamfest.

Posting so as to keep up awareness of a retailer with whom I’m but one customer for RFI solutions:

Mailing list of these and other retailers is a good idea.

I’m still kicking myself. During Black Friday weekend the Radioddity Amazon store had new QT-40’s on sale for prime members at $129. I didn’t need it, but should have gotten one anyway for that price.

I ordered the XPA125B a while ago. It'll be nice to retire the Palomar to the shack for emergencies.

Got one of the new mini Si437x shortwave receivers for a good deal as well.

I'll be curious to know when you get this if you try it with anything else. I know it's got the cable for the Xiegu radios but it states will work with any QRP transceiver. Please report back when you get it and let us know. I occasionally "borrow" an Icom 705 and it would be neat to run this behind that even for D-star HF... thanks.

From everything I've gathered about it, the Xiegu interface is so the amp's tuner is controlled from the G90. Otherwise, you can just tune the amp by itself to run other rigs.

I'll let y'all know how it works. Should have a good idea by Monday.

Just got it unboxed; reading the (thin) manual and searching some other forums and stuff.

HF + 6M, PA and tuner can be run together or either individually (👍). Tuner can be used in automatic or manual mode. It says 5W max input; my G90 has a good bit of swing on AM when turned down to QRP levels. High amperage cutoff is 25A. I have a sneaky feeling this thing might do a bit more than the claimed 100-125 on SSB.

SWR on input and output is displayed on screen as well as input/output wattage. I'll fire it up in the morning and see how it does.
