Community,

I take great pleasure in announcing the release of the RadioReference.com Web site 3.0 Alpha 1 release. This release has more then a year's work of effort built in to it, and the staff and myself have invested a tremendous amount of money and time into this release.

Understand that this is an alpha release, which means this comes before an official beta, which means that the purpose of this release is to judge community feedback and the understanding of how well this release serves the community as a whole.

Realize that with an alpha release, there will be bugs, problems, things won't work, and you'll see errors galore. This alpha release is meant preview and show what is coming. Don't like something you see - let's hear about it. See an error? That is expected, and I'd rather not hear about it at this point. What are we missing? See something major? Pipe up! Your feedback is welcome, but don't inundate the thread with nit-picky issues - save that for the beta.

With all this in mind, take note of the following:

1. If you had an account on the site as of yesterday, you can sign in to the beta site with your regular Radioreference username and password and have access to all your MyRR and other information.

2. The forums on this beta site are shutdown for obvious reasons.

3. The database information is current as of about 2:00 PM today.

4. Anything you submit on the beta site will ultimately be lost... so don't submit information on the beta site (but do continue on the production site).

5. Things like downloads, PDFs etc, etc probably won't be working.

6. If you are a software developer, expect the Web service to be ready for your testing soon. I am working on the new spec and interface.

7. Things might be slow on the beta site - performance testing has not been done yet.

There are a lot of things to explore, new features too many to list here... there is a lot to fail, to error out, and to marvel at. Enjoy it, don't get frustrated, and please do provide your comments. Your efforts, your responses, and YOUR feedback will make sure that the formal beta, and the ultimate 3.0 release to the whole community, will be successful and smooth.

OMG! Amazing!

SWEET!

Thanks Lindsay! Printables don't work yet.

If this is 'nit-picky ' then ignore it: I think that 'Anouncements and News' should read 'Recent Forum Posts'

I like how the mouse can now hover over the maps in the database when looking at a specific county. Nice work!
