...am I missing something? Don't get me wrong, it's a cool feature, but functionally it's the same as me clicking on the words "Ohio", then "Cuyahoga" today.

I was thinking there'd be more obvious differences in the database...?

I like it for states that I don't know all the county names, but I do know the part
of the state I am interested in.

It works now. Probably last night it was down for some work.

The database is awesome!

This site has to be the only one of its kind that allows you to have clickable maps. The FCC can't even do that. Although the FCC does have other features that when I think of it may beable to apply here too. Like specific radius search of certain criteria.

I noticed the page isn't centered like it is here. I don't know if that's just preliminary or not.

Like the last transition, well there be any caveats to this one? IE: missing avatars etc. Will you allow animated gifs or larger avatars also.

When do expect the beta to be ready too? :)

I can't wait to see the new look and features. :) Thank you for this terrific site! I should be a subscriber.

Next to a scanner...
Another suggestion - how hard would it be to have the interstates plotted on the maps? It would be really helpful when travelling to just follow the interestate line with your mouse and click on the counties along it.....

If it's not too difficult, that's one thing I'd like to see (and maybe major cities too).

I love it. The clickable maps in the database are really cool, and I really dig the layout...

I notice that a lot of people have noticed the maps and colors. There are other goodies there for the looking. If you will take a look at the Potter Co., TX page you will notice (I just updated it) that there is now an "Alpha Tag" column. That has replaced the "Channel" column and is to contain an abbreviated description so that it can be used to load scanners. There will be a similar field for TG's (pending); the field will (at last report) be limited to 12 characters to fit the widest number of scanner alpha tag fields.

In case anyone is interested, the names have to come out of our (admins') head, there is (so far) no automated way of doing it.

Will the admins take user's suggestions? (use the system for submitting data to submit 12-char alpha tags)

Well certainly your suggestions will be welcome; however, it has to make sense to everyone, those from the area and those not from the area so that has to be taken into consideration. Obviously the local/regional admins will be more involved in this process than the global admins (except for where we live or are familiar with). The idea is to provide something that really identifies the frequency/TG when it is loaded into a bank or system. Obviously the assumption will be that you load similar things in the bank or system; hence sometimes the ID will depend on where it is. For example under no circumstances should something like "SO Dispatch" be a label as obviously it might be loaded in a regional bank/system (TX Panhandle for example). So we will try and further ID it like I did in Potter Co.

Folks, I am aware of the mapping inconsistencies - so I'll be resolving those over the next week. user suggestions for alpha tags will certainly be considered, as well as any other data points.

Don't forget that many new submissions for this release when it goes to production will also center around location based data... for frequency subcategories, trunked system sites, and talkgroup categories, we'll be able to set lat/long/range for each of those.

once this is nailed down I'll announce a release of the beta for the next version of the Web service -- this will help software app developers (Like Don Starr and Butel etc) update their apps to use these new data points that will be available.

A very ground breaking component of the site are going to be the service tagging features - at some point you'll be able to run a query to tell you "Show me all the police dispatch frequencies in Davis County, or -- show me all fire dispatch frequencies for the state of arizona) - a very powerful set of functions to return a information based upon *service* queries... pair that with location based info and the power is frightning and might really spur some innovation out there...

Community,This release has more then a year's work of effort built in to it, and the staff and myself have invested a tremendous amount of money and time into this release.

What kind of new assets do you have? Are you gonna section 179 'em or MACRS 'em? It's important to think about deductible K-1 losses versus your outside basis.

Very nice. I like the "My Agencies" addition to the My RR Page. It may be a good idea to add the state that they come from to the display, as many have common agency titles... i.e. "state police".
