Last question.... Now I can connect and download as expected. When I upload to the scanner it works, but upon completion the scanner displays "Incorrect Model! Disconnect cable. It does download the file and appears as expected. What gives?

Obvious question - is there somewhere you need to indicate the model of the scanner before doing the up or download? 73 Mike

Under scanner tab in Win97 I select upload to Pro164 just like any other time.

I'll presume that the "Incorrect Model" display on the scanner is near the end of the upload procedure (i.e. scanner's progress bar completes, but then the message appears). If this is correct, it's because your scanner's firmware is not the most current.

In March 2009, firmware version 1.06 was made available on the RadioShack web site (Product Support tab on PRO-164 product page). That version has additional data for custom trunking tables. Win97 always sends this additional data but, if you have firmware earlier than 1.06, the scanner won't expect it and will show the [benign] message "Incorrect Model".
