I have a question, I am using the radio reference software ARC500 for my Pro106 radio shack scanner my question is when I want to add a county to my scanner why does the other counties that I programmed into my scanner get deleted? and than I have to start over and reprogram the counties in it over again.

ARC500 software has nothing to do with Radio Reference.

ARC500 software is a separate company.

When you are uploading files to your scanner, you are over-writing the file that is in the scanner.

You need to modify the working program file - then upload the new file which includes the additions.

Download the present file from the radio first, add the new information, send the new file to the radio.

The problem is that there is a single file that programs the radio. You have to select everything you want when you do a download. You cannot add a single system to what is already in the scanner unless you program it manually in the software.

The workaround I use is;
1 cut and paste my saved database into a spreadsheet,
2 clear the grid,
3 run a new radioreference import
4 cut and paste the imported data at the bottom of the spreadsheet
5 make any edits or sorts desired (scan banks, LED color, etc)
6 cut and paste the spreadsheet back into ARC

I have a number of files saved by date so I can reopen a previous version if I screw it up.

You can also save your present file to a V-Folder and load a new file. The V-folders allow you to change files if you change locations without loosing anything. If I remember correctly, there are 20 V-folders available.

It does have something to do with RadioReference if the person got the software thru the RadioReference.com website.

Seems like some people forget the software can be paid for from RadioReference order page.
Maybe that’s how the person got the ARC500 software. That’s why they said “RadioReference software”
https://www.radioreference.com/radioshack/
https://www.radioreference.com/radioshack/?a=order

Plus the key info will be available on the RadioReference website too.

“License keys for each of the products above will be emailed to you when payment is completed. You can also retrieve your purchased license keys at any time by viewing your RadioReference account profile”
