What are some CHEAP radios that are similar to the Motorola HT1250 or even the CP185? I'm looking for something around $125-$150 probably used, VHF, 16 channels or more, 4W+, and slightly similar to one of the radios above. Thanks.

I guess that depnds on how similar you want. Take a look at the Wouxun KG-UV6D. It does some of what the Motorola radio does.

The land of broken calculators.
When it comes to commercial radios,You can usually get a higher tier of radio in the Icoms and Kenwoods that generally to a lot more and for a lot less than motorolas . That's why I buy them because they're cheap. And Motorola and "cheap" are seldom used in the same sentence. Easier and cheaper to get ahold of what you need to program them as well.

I've been pleased with my Kenwood 90 Series handhelds. They're reasonably priced on the used market, well-built and you don't need to sign away your first born to get the programming software.

I did some looking around, 2 Kenwood radios have caught my attention; the TK280 and the TK272. And 1 Maxon radio caught my attention also; the SP7102. Does anyone have any input on these radios?? And I really wish I could afford a HT1250. I just love the way they look! I'm not sure why, but I see it and think, "That's how a handheld should look!" But as always, you're paying for the name!!!!!
