Radioshack Antennas

Which radioshack antenna gets better reception? The smaller one, or the discone one. (also transmits and is more $). I know, probably a dumb question, just wondering if I should spend the extra money if there is really that much of a difference.

Antenna depends on scanner. On my big BC-780's I use Channel Masters. On all others like pro-series I use a tri-band. Discones are actually an aircraft antenna that RS sells for a scanner antenna. Some PRO series overload with big antennas. I would read some of the old post.
