I'm here a lot
I read one of the new releases to see when this is happening and found
out that they will open in late 2005, interesting enough, look where

Edmondson expects the company to have upward of 20-30 company-owned stores operating in Canada by the end of the year, and that most of those will be in the Toronto area

so what does all this mean for the stores that got rebranded to "the source by circuit city"? are we talking about new seperate stores on the horizon? if so that would be awesome. i'd love to see full size places with the selection of radioshack.com, not some little shack in a mall.

I hope they bring the product up from the US ,not the crap that has been here latley(who cares about talking picture frames and room ionizers)

Sorry to disappoint you but in March I visited a Radio Shack store in Florida and it was full of the same crap we've got up here.

Instead of one place to buy crap, you'll soon have your choice of either Circuit City carp or Radio Shack crap.

Yes, because the stuff that was RadioShack in Canada before it became The Source (of NexxTech dumping grounds), was actually owned by a separate company than the U.S. RadioShack stores were. That company either sold its stores or was sold to Circuit City.

As for finding anything useful in RS, I am still of the opinion that that time passed us sometime in the 80s in both countries.

The Reincarnation of Radio Shack

Hiya,

Just in what was a Radio Shack outlet here in Kingston, now called "The Source"...

While purchasing some fuses (6 bucks for two 1.0A's! When will I ever learn...), I noticed they actually had a scanner on display. A BC72XLT.

I was told that more would be on the way...

Did you mean they are getting in more BC72XLTs, or different kinds of scanners? What was the price on the '72?

Next time for fuses, go to Princess Auto. They have just about any kind of electronic/automotive fuse you might want, and the prices are reasonable (and they have frequent sales).

Look at what The Source is going to ask for the BC 246T coming out in August.

Unreal.

Right on , Randy

Convert that price to American and it comes out to $411.00 US

If anyone ever has the desire to purchase a scanner at the Source, do this

Haha...I think I know what you mean. Several years back I saw a Jimmy with personal plate "DAVE" in Kingston. No, that isn't me, I have a "Civic". I had an old one then and have a new one. Yesterday was the "Civic Holiday" and the car actually did take a holiday :)

Ooops!

Dave,

A bit of a misunderstanding....

"Jimmy" is actually Canadian Forces slang for a member of the Signals Corp, specifically Radio Operators. Your name and initials match up with a fellow Signaler whom I know is currently posted to Ottawa at NDHQ. My mistake...
