Resellers looking for a quick turn around are being squeezed. I think they're better off holding out a few weeks until the undercutting on eBay ends.

With the final closing deadline so close for RS a lot of merchandise obtained cheaply is flooding the market.

I have a couple of extra 668 units that I am not going to put out for sale right now, for the above reasons.
Anyone interested in a trade for a 652, I could use one of those.
Will eventually sell, but not interested in losing the cost of tolls and gas right now.

There are currently 33 people selling 668's on eBay right not, some have more than 1.

PRO-668 $150.00

For those in the Washington DC area, RS store at 1150 Connecticut Ave NW has at least 12 units for $150 (as of 45 minutes ago).

Good Luck

My $159.99 eBay purchased Pro-668 arrived today.

The scanner was just the plastic outside housing. All of the internal electronics were removed.

Just kidding. Arrived brand new as described, all packaging looked untouched. I just did a quick configuration by zip code to test it out. I'll spend more time to figure it out after work.

So far so good. One thing I noticed is that it came with a 4GB microSD when I was expecting a 2GB card. Also I don't like the flap over the USB port. I think it's going to a pain in the *** to keep latched down.

The first thing I did (well not quite the first thing, but the next day) was remove the 6 rear screws and take out the rubber protective flap over the USB port. At least until I get the bloody thing programmed half way to where I like it. The first few days you will see that you will be programming it over and over.
Boy you had me going there for a minute when I first starting reading your post, lol. Glad it turned out good for you.
And yes, I think most of us got the 4GB card. I think the 2GB cards became obsolete and probably more expensive to get than the 4GB.

My Pro-668 is very finicky about microSD cards. I spent hours last night trying to get another card working in the scanner and it just resulted in failure after failure. I gave up convinced the cards I was using just wouldn't work, but I was hesitant to start pulling cards from other devices.

I typically use Samsung and Sandisk cards but the only unused cards I had was a 2GB no name and a 16GB Emtec. This morning I picked a new 32GB Samsung card on sale at BestBuy. Within 5 minutes the card was up and running in the scanner.

Live and learn I guess.. But now I can keep the original card stored away and an additional copy of it's contents stored on my NAS.

i also have several 668s that i brought and like scosgt i'm waiting til the firesale stuff goes away . Even if they got a 10% quanity discount on them he's not making money at 159.99 . I have had sucess with 16gig sandisk cards in mine and the ones i have programs for other people . I've learned to format the disk first and then use iscan to load the new data on the card . I use sd formater to format the card first . I have been able to redo a corrupted card this way and copy the factory data back to the card .

I use sd formatter too. One thing I like about it is that it gives the option to resize the card back to it's original size. I actually needed to do that last night. As a last ditch effort I took a full disk image of the 4GB original card and wrote it onto the 16GB card, of course after doing that the 16GB will bee seen as 4GB, an exact copy of the 4GB card.

Even that didn't work in the scanner so I used sd formatter to bring it back to 16GB and packed it in for the night.

Several auctions recently ended at under $200 shipped.

It the cheapest Buy-It-Now and auction I seen in the last couple of days, as of the last couple of days. They when for $212 and up. They are slowly going back up in price. Last one even at auction was March 19th for $159. The ones that sold for $179 on March 20th were cancel as seller claim to make a mistake, or realize to sit on them instead. The last 3 days they been going up in price. So undercutting almost over, as sellers run out.

I know it not the slam deals we been getting, or seeing. Figure still put link up for the $210 ones with free shipping, for those that still want it cheap, as still a very good deal for a phase II scanner, before they go back up to $299 range. As professional sellers are known to wait it out when the undercutting is finish and will list high after a while, like they did with the PSR-800's and they were asking around $425 for them just a few days ago before these pop up.

These seller are testing the market and canceling the orders. Once they realize they there is a market and more likely will list on another account to sell for higher. Second one to cancel a order in the last 2 days. The guy with the $179 listing same thing. Or they are listing so other can keep price low and they can take them.

I am sorry, but I have to refund your order. The last few scanners I had in the bottom of the box were D.O.A.
I personally check every item before shipping and my last 6 were no good. The screen seems to be blackened and it does not boot up either, so to avoid problems with you having to return the item for a refund I am letting you know why the item was refunded.
Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.

Yup, that sounds like total BS.
No one has posted here yet about a DOA 668
