On Radio Shack web site the pro 668 and pro 652 are sold out online. Looks like they have a few left in a couple stores about 50 miles away from me.

Maybe the ebay prices will start to climb up now.

They will start to climb, usually the way it works and all clearance stores are close. Only store left open are staying open and they are charging full retail price.

After checking today, seems like most Ebayers have raised their BIN listing price on the 668s, but as far as auction listings, they are barely hitting $175+ the past two days.
Same goes for the 106, 500, and 651models. Low auction final bids.
I think saturation has hit!

Not very many left on the market, but not vary many buyer, niche market. I do also think saturation has hit! Most I know has a few of them and at least 2 of them.

It's not very often that we see such a bargain on a scanner. It's identical cousin ( PSR-800 ) was easily topping 400.00 when GRE went out of business. I don't see the same happening to the Pro-668 as long as Whistler is selling the WS1080.

I do see that all the Radio Shack's that had them on clearance are now closed. The online price dropped to $258.20 then sold out. Get one why you can because they won't stay at this price for long.

That what I am thinking. Once the price war is over and everyone finish undercutting each other, which will be in a couple of months, then they will go back up. Doubt they will hit $400 range, with GRE PSR-800. you only had that model and was one of the only scanners beside 436HP that did phase II. So once they ran out, you didn't have very many options. It was the GRE PSR-800, or Uniden 436HP for HT's. With Uniden new models and the Whistler WS1080, you have more options now and prices of those even dropped.

I say the RadioShack Pro-668 will stable out at $299.99 after undercutting over and more buyers decide to want one last minute. Maybe years from now be worth more, as more likely going to be last RadioShack model, as a collectable.

Well, lets just hope that RS continue to sell the Pro668 because they may just keep supporting the unit with firmware updates too. I was worried that RS would drop scanners altogether after their 're-birth'.

The PRO668 may not be orphaned after all :)

Will we also see the RS version of the WS1095 mobile though??

Some have suggested that RS owes Whistler money already. Will Whistler continue to sell RS re-badged scanners if money is still owing - I doubt it.

They Probuly just pulled the scanners from the non closing stores to sell on the web site to get rid of the test of the stock

FWIW, I asked a manager of a "moving forward" RS yesterday...he said that they are gone, discontinued, there will be no more Pro-668's. He didn't know about the 651/652 or the others, said that exactly what RS is going to sell in the future is still very much up in the air. And he may have known or he may have been blowing smoke. So take that with a large grain of salt.

I've heard the same thing from my local Sprint-RS. They won't be carrying the scanner anymore and likely not any scanners in the store. What a shame.
None the less, I was able to trade for one from a guy who bought some of the last ones in the state of Georgia.

Very impressed, for a scanner it does a respectable job on the two CQPSK-LSM systems I monitor, still won't come close to my XTS5000 or APX6000 but it is miles above the POS 996T that just makes turkey garble sounds on LSM simulcast.

It took me a while but the object oriented UI is kind of neat.

Yes, it takes some getting used to, LOL. I've had the Pro-18 for about 2 years now and still learning new things about it. Now I have to keep my 2 versions of iScan straight...but I've become very fond of the Pro-18 and so far I am liking the -668 a lot. And I'll be ready if/when my system "upgrades" to p.2. Too bad things had to end this way for this model.

I have been making offers on some of the auctions with best offers. Most have rejected my offers or counter with 5 or 10 bucks lower than their bin.

I did get another pro668 for 156 shipped and a pro652 for 188 shipped with best offers.

Pro668

When I check our RadioShack inventory on the Pro668 last week before I went on vacation , it showed that the scanner was still an active item in our warehouse . Now that the RS bankruptcy is over the new owner is in the process of replacing inventory with the vendors , The stores that are remaining open may have them . We are still in the blind as to what we will be carrying yet , nothing has been said other than Sprint products .
