(I wrote this in another post, and im not sure where you are from, but I hope this helps...if it is an EDACS system, just leave out the pressing "E" part.)
The directions given by the radio shack manual is very unclear about how to program in trunked talkgroups. It took me over 2 years to figure it out. The basic steps are this:
1. Program in all the frequencies (do them in the order they are listed)
ex. xxx.xxxx (851.1551)
2. Press SCAN and then TRUNK.
3. There should be a scrolling text that pops up on the screen and says SCAN ID.
4. From here you can push PROG and then you will see something like
-- ---
5. To program this, type in this:
ex. Chicago is on a Motorola Type II system. Say you wanted to program in the Chicago Auto Theft Unit (Detective Division) To do this, you will need to type in:
type in 29200. After that, press E until the small E in the upper right hand corner of the screen is blinking, or turns to an M.
I hope this helps, I'm not to familiar with how to program in Motorola Type II talkgroup ID's. While I have done this on vacation, Lynchburg is an EDACS system so I am a little more familiar with this system.
