RadioShack Pro96 and Software

Just purchased my Pro96 digital scanner. Some of the accessories posted on RadioShack web site showed software and cable for transferring information from scanner to PC, or PC to scanner. Purchased stated software and cable, but it did not work. Wrote RadioShack customer services and received reply that they, RadioShack, had no software available for the Pro96, and that the data cable included with the advertised software WOULD NOT WORK with the Pro96 scanner.

Located appropriate sofware on the RadioReferrance site that works GREAT, and purchased the proper data cable for my Pro96. Love it. It also works with my Pro95 scanner.

One would think that someone at RS would be smart enough to figure out that xyz product only works with these radios, and actually post that on the website. Perferably *with* the product description. hello. :roll: sheeesh.

LOL Crayon! Take for instance.. the main PC to Scanner cable RS pushes is the wrong one for most scanners.. they tried to sell me that crap for a PRO-2052, when there is no way in Hell it'll ever work lol! Thanks to Don Starr's Starrsoft for giving the right info on cables to use!
