Radioshack speakers

I'm looking at the Radioshack radio/scanner external speakers. I've heard some decent things about the #21-259 (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2036240). I'm also looking at the small ~3 inch #19-318 (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102467). Anyone used either of these? They're roughly the same price, so I'm curious if anyone has words on either of them or a comparison.

I realize there are better non-Radioshack speakers out there, but I just want comments on these Radioshack models right now.

I bought the 19-318 to try and use with my Icom 703 in the Van. It's sitting on my desk waiting for something to do. I found it way to tinny for HF use. It's ok for my dualband rig, and will perform well with a scanner. All in all, to me, it's been a waste of money. On the up side, the 10 foot speaker cable and it's diminutive size makes it one of the most flexible for mounting locations.

I can offer no opinion on the 21-259 as I don't own one.

Agreed, the 318 doesn't sound too much better, but the long cable does facilitate placing it just about anyplace you would want.

I have Five (21-549) Radio Shack speakers that I've used for over 10 years with no problems.I also had One of the (19-318) Mini speakers which came with a used scanner I bought off E-BAY,I sent the speaker to the DUMP....Hope this helps
