I heard a couple of years ago that the UP was using an SMR TRS in the LA, for wide-area communications, especially among their supervisors and police.
However, all of their basic and routine comms are in the 160-161 MHz area.

I do know that METRORAIL Transit Police uses 483.3125 MHz as their main dispatch channel.

Railroad Police Freqs.

Keep listening to the road channels. They usually use that for on-scene responses. Also try the national rr police channel 161.205.

Along with Nextel they monitor their own talkgroups on the local 800 systems as well, at least here in the NW

AMTRAK Security/Police use many forms of communication. Nextel, the local Security/Police chans on the corridors they traverse, as well as the Nationwide Rail Law Enforcement common one. 160.2150 is the old, not sure which of the new narrowband ones they will use.
