Hey, just wondering if anyone has been able to pick up NXDN for the railroads in WV? The NXDN frequencies for railroads have been listed for quite awhile, and now it looks like there has been some news frequencies for railroads on the Digital Frequency search that are NXDN. I loaded the initial frequencies from that site a few years back but never did hear anything. Just wondering if any of you have had better luck in WV. I live in Logan County, but would like to hear anyone from all counties if you have been successful.

Very few railroads are using NXDN. Almost everything is still analog except for a few NXDN test repeaters in major yards, and nothing in WV that I am aware of.

The only things I know of anywhere close to WV using NXDN would be Roanoke Yard in VA is using NXDN for a shop channel (I've picked it up on my SDR at the Windmill Gap (Pokey East) radio feed site) and I see NXDN data on AAR097 which I believe is for crossing data, but I don't have a way to decode for sure at the moment. Nothing in the south end of WV is using NXDN to my knowledge.

(Side note, since you're in Logan Co.. there is a feed coming for Logan and Peach Creek, just gotta get time and weather to put the antenna up at the tower site)

That's great. I assume the feed will be NXDN? If so that's great. I am in Pecks Mill, pretty close and have a discone antenna, I can hear the dmr radios in the area and trunked talk groups as well as analog, so I am hoping that NXDN signals will be heard.

No need for NXDN for railroad, again they are all analog when it comes to road and dispatcher channels.
