It might, in the case of Valdosta an external antenna may work as it appears they are all conventional analog VHF. In the case of Albany you would need much more. 40+ miles trying to pick up an 800 MHz trunking system is problematic. A directional antenna may help but this would depend a bit on how strong the system is set and if it is directed in some way to preclude its signal for coming your way. The fact that you have a Pro-94 as opposed to some other scanner in no way affects this, you would experience the same difficulty no matter what scanner you had.
