Range?

What kinda range are you guys experiencing? Over here in northern Jefferson County I can pick up Franklin County, Washington County, southern precincts of St. Louis County. I get weak signals from St. Francois, Ste Genevive, and Monroe counties, and the STL PD TRS.

I've got a 20 dollar radio shack antenna setup in my basement hooked to a BCT-8 and i was surprised by how far i can reach. I'm near the western edge of st charles county and can get all of warren, lincoln, saint louis, and franklin county. I don't listen to Saint Louis City so i'm not sure if i could pick them up or not. I get weak but understandable frequencies from Jefferson and Pike county. I also pick up a little from Illinois, although i don't recall off hand what county. I haven't tried to pick up any other counties as of now. I might in the future but i've got more than i can listen to as it is. I can only imagine my range if i moved the antenna from my basement to the roof of my house.

Northern Macon Co. - reliably picking up 50+ miles all the time - Schuyler, Putnam, Knox counties. At night I can pickup 100+ miles - Hannibal P.D., K.C. fire & P.D....

50 foot tower, RS discone @ 45 feet... Pro 60, 97 and 2006 (w/ full Opto 456 board and Percon's Wavelink & GeoDB software...
