My county doesn't arm it's park rangers. Crazy, if you ask me.

Completely crazy.

When I was a seasonal ranger (PC832 sworn), we had weapons pulled on us ALL the time.

LOTS of guns in parks. LOTS of felons w/ warrants. Lots of armed drunks.

My park had higher felony arrest stats than one of the urban police districts that
abutted us.

Something about felons thinking parks are law-enforcement free zones.

Some of the parks I worked in, your closest fill unit was 30 minutes away, code 3, and the campground operations were 24/7. You thought twice about EVERY tactical encounter.

I'm glad she's ok and I hope the shoot is ruled as a good one.
