I've been trying

I bought a RPI 2 and have been trying exactly this without much luck. I've installed Rasperian (and updated it to Jessi) as well Kali Linux. I can get both to work with basic gnuradio (from the repositories), but when I try to build OP25 using the pybomb, it blows.

does the improved usb power support the rtl dongle directly or a powered usb hub is still required ?

I never needed a powered hub using the B+ model, and so far, so good with the Pi 2, using Nooelec dongles...
