I have tried numinous times to download the raspberry pi image file from broadcastify.com for setting up pi to stream to broadcastify, but the download fails every time before it completes? Anything I’m doing wrong, I’ve downloaded it in the past with no problems.

I also tried to download it several months ago and couldn’t get it to work either. I would use the link below to manually install Darkice if you cannot get the download to work.

Are you having issues with the "flash from URL" step? I ended up having to paste the URL (https://www.broadcastify.com/rpi/image) into my browser, download the image to my PC, and then flash from file in BalenaEtcher. I just tested it and was able to download the image from the above URL with no issues.

You can get the stock raspberry pi image from Balena Etcher or balenaetcher.com

No, its starts the download and gets anywhere from 20 to 70% complete and if fails. Tried as you suggested and same thing happens? No idea why the download fails.

Hey all.
I tried to download the image file from the url to my hd. Then unzip it to my hd. About 95% unzipped it stopped and said it had a corrupt file.
Anyone had this problem?

What you use to unzip file? I just downloaded on Win 10 IOT Enterprise LTSC version 21H2 build 19044.4894 and 7Zip v 24.07 unzipped fine.

Crank,

exactly what is your “end game”? Stream from a radio/scanner to Bcfy? If that is your goal, it is much easier to simply install darkice to the standard Raspbian OS. If you are going for some of the other stuff on the BCFY image, that may be different.

I can try a different one.

Yes. Stream from a scanner to Broadcastify. I’m going by the Broadcastify image file.

Is there a url or forum explaining how to do this?

One more thing… I see a bunch of people have their Ham call for the user. Will I be able to change my user to WB2HUQ?

Post in thread 'Raspberry Pi Darkice streaming made easy'
Raspberry Pi Darkice streaming made easy

in that post skip down to the line that says plug in your usb sound card, then proceed from there. When you do the icecast2 install it will ask you if you want to set it up. Answer yes, then accept the default passwords (3).

this assumes that you have your pi set up and running a stock Raspbian OS, not the BCFY image.
