Pulled the trigger today on a quad of Eneloop Pros and a quad of Maha Powerex 2700mAhs.

Will be running over to the local Wally World this weekend to see about getting a quad of Duracell 2400mAh Ion Core "Duraloops" too.

I will try and report back my ratings after some use.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

Ran a refresh/analyze mode on the Energizer 2300mAh I got a while back when I bought my scanner to rotate out with the CORUNs 2300mAh that came with it. Was dumb charging both quads, prior to getting my Maha and these were the results:

Energizers:
Slot 1-2222mAh
Slot 2-2159mAh
Slot 3-2212mAh
Slot 4-2172mAh

They obviously came out under their rated capacity, which disappointed me. Figured out of the two brands the Energizers would be the best performer, but I was mistaken....Currently running a cycle x3 mode to see if I can bring the mAh up some. If that don't work I will try and break-in mode.

With that said, exchanged some posts over on CP and they were still considered good at the mAh I posted, but being I am OCD, I want to get them closer to 2300mAh. We'll see what happens.

Now the CORUNs surprisingly enough came out showing the following after refresh/analyze:

Slot 1-2316mAh
Slot 2-2276mAh
Slot 3-2327mAh
Slot 4-2270mAh

Which obviously is quite better then the Energizers faired. Two tested a little over their rated capacity and the other two were barely under. Which leads me to believe these CORUNs may not be some bad batteries after all.

Got the Duraloops in the scanner right now straight out the package, since they are basically re-branded Pros I read they could be used without any conditioning if so desired. I will probably just re-charge them a few times, then see about a refresh/analyze on them latter down the road.

My Eneloop Pros and Powerex 2700mAh should be arriving soon, I will try and post some feedback on those after I use them some.

Wanted to pass along an issue I had ordering my batteries through Amazon with you guys.

Received both my quad AA of Eneloop Pros and Powerex 2700mAh a few days ago. Happy with the Pros, but the Powerex for some reason was delivered in a completely opened pack (attached pic) with one of the batteries loose inside the shipping box; totally removed from the supplied Powerex plastic battery case that comes with Maha batteries.

Which lead me to believe I may have received a set of used or returned batteries. Although disappointed, I did not want to initiate a lengthy return process, so I went ahead and discharged them (they ended up being very low) and did a break-in on my C9000 and they came back within Maha's minimum rated capacity of 2500mAh.

Still felt I should let Amazon know, so if at the least; to make them aware and prevent it from happening to someone else. I specifically told them I was not seeking a refund or replacement, but they went ahead a generated a replacement order, however for the wrong batteries, the Pros and not the Powerex.

Long story, longer, we agreed I would refuse delivery and they would then get it back and we would be even. (Tried canceling it, but they stated it was too late.)

For my troubles, they granted me a $10 dollars off certificate for any future orders I place with them in which they are the seller of the product.

Just something, I felt you guys should be aware of, if you plan on ordering batteries, etc..from Amazon. I plan on still using Amazon, as this is the only issue I have ever had with them so far. Every other time my orders arrived ahead of schedule with free shipping and in great condition.

I end I felt I was taken care of, just wish I had not had to experience it in the first place.

Had some time to use the Powerex and Eneloop Pros and I happy with both so far.

In the end, I am glad I went with the higher mAh capacity these batteries provide.

The Powerex 2700mAh are meeting their minimum rating of 2500mAh so far, hopefully with time I can get them closer to the 2700mAh rating they advertise. I still get some great run times, so regradless I am happy with them. I would recommend them for use in our applications.

The Eneloop Pros are extremy consistent to date. The cells are meeting or even at times exceeding their advertised rating of 2450mAh. They are reviewed as the best for a reason. Great batteries that will serve you well in your scanners. I would highly recommend them.

For what it worth I am also getting good use out of the following cells as well:

CORUN 2300mAh (They came with the scanner and to my surprise at times exceeded their rating.)

Duracell 2500mAh Ion Core

Energizer 2300mAh Recharge Power Plus

Sometime down the road I may get a quad of Powerex Imedion 2400mAh from Amazon.

Also may try a quad of Rayovac 2400mAh Recharge Plus from Wal-mart to test/try out since there can be had for pretty cheap.

In sum I would recommend any of the quads I am currently using and I would rate them in the following order:

1. Eneloop Pro
2. Duracell Ion Core
3. CORUN
4. Powerex
5. Energizer

Hope this helps. :)

I recommend the XTAR VC4 charger.

Best one i've owned. I also have a bunch of Li-ion 18650s I use it to charge along with eneloops.

charges each battery individually. the 2 outside channels are a full amp, or if you have it loaded with 4 it'll do half amp each channel.

Thought I'd mention that advertised batteries were 2550's and I received 2450's. Not a deal breaker and price was good. Not a difference I will notice.

Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I wonder if that is a typo from the old pre-Panasonic days, back when they were branded as Sanyo?

1.2V AA 2550 mAh Sanyo Eneloop XX NiMH Battery Tests - RightBattery.com

Most current generation Eneloop Pros I have seen advertise at 2450mAh.

However, I believe I have read somewhere that Panasonic may still advertise 2550 as a max, but uses the 2450 as the minimum rating.

So who knows.....great batteries either way!

Pulled the trigger on a quad of Imedions and a quad of Rayovac 2400mAh....

Looking forward to what I can get out these.

The Rayovacs were cheap and I am not holding out high hopes for them, but for the price (under $10), I figured they would be good for at least playing with. :)

Pulled the trigger of on Isidor Buchmann's book, "Batteries in a Portable World" from the Battery University site via Amazon. Hoping to pick up some good knowledge from it.

Just switched to Eneloop Pro 2550mAh batteries after using junk Energizer Recharge for the past two years. Wow! What a difference! Now I'm getting a solid 11-12 hours worth of use (when compared to the previous batteries-the hours of use was somewhere around 4-6 hours). Bought them on Amazon for around $31 (they included the Panasonic charger).

Would highly recommend this product!

Did a break-in on the Rayovacs and got the following results:

1.2202mAh
2.2243mAh
3.2228mAh
4.2215mAh

Not quite 2400mAh like I had hoped for, but more than likely at their minimum rated capacity. Will use them for awhile and if they start going down hill, I'll toss them into some solar lights I have in the yard or give them to my son for his Xbox controllers. :)

The Amazon basic high capacity AA rechargeable's are identical to the Eneloop Pro batteries. The only difference is the name on the battery and the cost. At the time of this post the Amazon batteries are available for around $20 for an eight pack. During my last trip to Los Angeles my 436 using these batteries was getting around 12 hours a set. Considering the scanner in LA never shuts up that's a great run time.
