i noticed they changed the name from "RCMP Province Wide P25 System", to "RCMP Central Region Operation Communication System." With this name change, does that mean the RCMP aren't going to be rolling out a Province Wide System anymore? if they were before? also, what does "Central Region" mean? I cant see it meaning that its going to be in central ontario, because there still are sites in the london area, which is in southwestern ontario.

I assume you're talking about the name in the database?

I think it'd be somewhat naive to consider that "Central Region" refers only to central Ontario considering the RCMP operate all over Canada.

"Central Region" has generally meant something in an administrative sense in regards to the OPP. It's probable that it would mean something different to another large police service.

You're probably just reading into the name too much...if the name had changed to RCMP Southwestern Ontario Operation Communication System you'd be sure a few of us might be scratching our heads...but a name's just a name.
