This is actually becoming fairly common place, and expect to see it a lot more whenever any gathering happens. "Rumour" is that FRS/GMRS frequencies, along with certain cell bands at critical times when a high value target is ingress/egress from areas under potential threat.

Doesn't surprise me; though I would imagine here US Secret Service would rather listen and intercept people than outright jamming.

During the G8 summit in Alberta in 2002, officials monitored the comms of protestors both benign and otherwise on both FRS/GMRS and ham band frequencies. Jamming was not done; granted, this was ~6 years ago.
