RDU - Small aircraft on approach disappears

On approach last night, a small aircraft disappeared from radar but didn't land. Airport was temporarily closed. I can find no radio traffic this morning on this subject. Some are concerned it may have crashed in Umstead Park. I am listening to Umstead Park TG on Viper tower West Raleigh. As of a few moments ago, no search activity has begun there.

To clarify with OP, all search activity is inside Umstead Park, basing at the main entrance off Glenwood Ave at this time.

It seems a debris field has been found. Activity on Wake Simulcast PS Tac 27. All teams are being recalled to command post for debriefing.
