I have a couple of questions.
I am researching which scaner to buy i.e. prs-500 or BCD396T for scanning in Ascension parish and Southern Louisiana ,
I wold like to monitor the LATIE system and public safety freqs in Ascension ,EBR,and Livingston Parish.

Would anyone care to share their experiences in Ascension and the surrounding parishes.

Also, does anyone know if Ascension is using any encryption software/hardware.

Any advice or comments (good / bad) will be greatly appreciated.

I do know that EBR Sheriff is utilizing the LATIE system right now , all talk group id is on the database page. As far as Ascension, they do have a voice inversion channel on their 800 system. On LATIE they do have interops channels and as far as I know they have only (1) one dispatch channel. The interop and the dispatch channels are digital. and if you have either the 396d or the 996d scanners from Uniden, you shouldn't have any problem picking them up.
