I find out today that in the coming next couple of months Motorola will be re-banding StarCom radio's
State wide.
And will also be completely changing some control chanel frequency's.

Is it possible you are talking about Phase 2 upgrades? Or perhaps the last touch of the radios to remove the old freqs?

As usswood said, rebanding for StarCom21 has long been complete, all sites that were on the old 866-869 MHz. channels are now on the newer 851-853 freqs.

There were several "touches" of radios to add the new freqs in anticipation of the transition, perhaps they are coming again to take the old channels out and clean up the channel plans.

Phase 2 requires firmware upgrades on some radios, total replacement of others.

I know st.clair county is attempting to add frequencies as well as upgrading radios as they can to APXs (Phase 2) due to the system supposedly being "too crowded".

Their words, not mine.

StarCom has already been rebanded!

No I'm not referring to the rebanding of a few years ago.

Was having breakfast Sunday morning with a local county tech friend.
All he said was they met with Motorola about rebanding the radio's to change frequencies, add talk groups to make room for another Cell phone Company. think he mentioned Sprint.

Never said anything about Phase 2,but I need to keep trying for more info.

As always these guy's are very tight lipped about there systems.
He did tell me he would get me the new Control Channels.
As I get more factual information I will pass it along.
Merely posted this as a "Heads up",
