I asked this question awhile back in the Kansas forum but got no replies. While I reference Kansas here this could also be a general re-banding question.

Here is my question:
----
I was reading this thread:

http://www.radioreference.com/forums...ad.php?t=12078

I noted these points:

------------------
"Rebanding will effect anyone in the 851.0125-854Mhz range, and anyone above 862Mhz. There may also be some limited ripple effect on those that are in the 854-862 range, but that would probably be limited to those that have some frequencies in the other affected ranges."

"851.0 - 854.0 will be for Public Safety only.
854.0 - 860.0 will be for "Public Safety B/ILT Non-Cellular SMR" - which essentially means all the 'business' trunk systems.
860.0 - 861.0 is an "Expansion Band".
861.0 - 862.0 is a "Guard Band". I presume there will be no licenses allowed here.
862.0 - 869.0 will be exclusively for NEXTEL and other such providers (TELUS iDEN in Canada, etc)."
-------------------

So if the below are the freqs used by Topeka / Shawnee County then does that mean they will NOT be re-banded and our non-re-bandable scanners will still work???

001 Primary 856.21250 856.48750 856.73750 857.21250 857.48750 857.73750 858.21250 858.48750 858.73750 859.21250 859.48750 859.73750 860.21250 860.48750 860.73750

Thanks!! That worked great!! Looks like most of the freq's are OK, what exactly does "they can opt out" mean? Does it mean they do not have to change anything?

No Reconfiguration Required for these freq's:
856.21250 856.48750 856.73750 857.21250 857.48750 857.73750 858.21250 858.48750 858.73750 859.21250 859.48750 859.73750

Public Safety Licensees Only Reconfigured (they can opt out):
860.21250 860.48750 860.73750
