Greenwich Rebanded

The spacing is not related to narrowband/wideband but the space between the designated Motorola channels.
Base is the frequency of the lowest Motorola channel (Ch1 - 851.0125) and spacing is the separation to the next channel (25khz).
So channel 1 is 851.0125, channel 2 is 851.0375, etc.
The interleaved channels start at 851.0250 and are also 25khz apart.
Ch 440 is 851.0250, ch 441 is 851.0500, etc.

If you create a custom plan and use 12.5khz, the scanner will not trunktrack correctly. Also, if you do not add the second part of the plan with the 851.0250 base, you will not trunktrack correctly IF the system has any of the interleaved frequencies.

chris

So this is correct for Greenwich Chris?

Band Plan 2
Lower 851.0125
Upper 868.9875
Step 25mhz
Offset 0

I am using a 796D, I work in Greenwich,I have tried the band plans and none will work for me. I can track the system using the type 2 P25 setting but seem to miss a few transmisions. Spoke to Uniden tech support today and the tech had no idea why the band plan would not work.

the way Dave had it should be correct. That is also what Uniden's WIKI reports as the correct custom plan for rebanded systems.

EDIT: looking at the frequencies, I am fairly certain you need to have BOTH plans in the custom plan. One covers the interleaved channels and the other covers the regular channels.

For the 796, try the plain 800. I believe it is not a P25 system. If it is, the rebanding should not have affected it.

(I have been away for 5 months so I haven't been following the very latest)

The last I knew and this may have changed but I didn't think the 796 / 780 series were going to be upgradable with the new bandplans since they had already switched over to the newer generation of scanners. There was no software to come out to flash the older trunkers.

Thanks Garys. I'll have to try it.

According to RR, the Greenwich site is Project 25. But right now it is analog rebanded. 853.700 is the Control Channel. I used the default tables and it tracks fine on the Pro-106, but again, it is analog, not p25 Auto.

Check that--- it is a mixed system. Just heard a P25 transmission. What happened to the talkgroup list that was on RR?

Lo Chan Hi Chan Offset Base Freq Step
440 559 440 851.025000 25.000
0 719 0 851.012500 25.000
720 759 720 866.000000 25.000
815 831 815 867.000000 25.000
958 958 958 868.975000 25.000
961 1022 961 867.425000 25.000

The Greenwich system is a Type II system (rebanded) with both analog and digital communications. I sent an email to the database admin and they are going to put all the talkgroups back up. They thought that the system was changed over to full P25. If you check the database again you will see the correct system again listed as "Greenwich Type II"

While on the subject of the 796D, will it be able to track the CSP if and when they switch to 700 MHZ?

You got a long wait for CSP to go 700. They haven't even switched down to 850s yet. Why would they want to go 700. No depts that use 700 that I know of.

No, the 796 only covers down to 806.0000 (input to 851.0000)

I would not say you have too much wait. A 6 channel 700 trunking system is going up at 4 or 5 of the fairfield county CSP sites including shelton in the next 3 months. I found the freqs on the FCC site and have been pluging people for months and thats what I got so far. an 800 system and 700 system can mix

For Hartford, the 860.xxxx channels will likely go away. You will need to wait until the event occurs because you have to program them in in the correct order once that is determined.

CSP is going APCO25 Phase 1 as funds permit. Don't count on 700 on CSP anytime soon as 99% of the radios in the field do not support 700 (or APCO25Ph1) at this time.

This doesn't mean that the state isn't going to license some freq's. Cross check the 700 freq's with the 700 interop channels as well.

Where did you find the freqs for Fairfield County? I could not find them. What is the call sign?
Since I am in lower Fairfield County, I will want them in my scanner.
Thanks
