Probably should have looked at the FCC site first!

OK, I'm a bit confused this morning. Troop D site is now running a control channel test on 853.2000. Makes no sense to me. I know that Rhode Island is planning on putting up a new RISCON site, but can you run two sites near eactother on the same control channel?

RI is not licensed on 853.2000 so no interference.

What about Mass? It's very strong and there is not displaying id code for it yet.

Ok now 853.2000 is back to a voting frequency. Interesting stuff. :)

Ok, I'm at a loss, and I'm new to this. I have a uniden BCD996T. I have the latest update, 3.02.00. I am not hearing Troop D like I was. But I am hearing Troop H fine. I believe? What is it I have to do to make sure I am hearing everything? Enter new channels? Make it an Moto custom 800 band plan? I'm sure I'm not the only one like this. Please advise. Thank you.

I know this has been posted a number of times , but try this.

853.3375 is working for me as a control channel in Waterford, I have been listening to Troop E loud & clear. I am using a Pro-106 and have loaded the reband table that is in ARC 500. Also found 853.5625 as a second control channel.

Anyone know what is going on with the Troop "F" site? I'm in Middletown and usually use that site and I'm getting nothing. I check the State Police section in the database and nothing has changed, according to the database.

I don't think you will hear Troop E on 853.5625 very often if never. I personally have never heard Troop E on that site since they realigned the system a few years ago.
Try 868.9125 for a secondary Troop E site Control Channel if you can receive it. I receive the Old Lyme transmitter and Troops E, C, D, K, F, and H on that one here in Milford. Soon to be 853.9125 when rebanding occurs on that site.

You can't just enter the frequencies. You have to re-band the scanner .

Good point. I forgot not everyone is aware of this, although this thread we are currently posting within does explain the point in case. Here is my Freescan program band plan that I use and it works,

Ok. How do I manually do this from the front of the scanner? I have a BCD996T?

Here are the instructions. You better off downloading freescan (free software) and doing it through the software, but....

Edit Band Plan (Motorola Custom/P25/VHF/UHF only) Band plans are required so the scanner can correctly determine the voice channel frequencies. For P25 Systems there are two types of P25 systems: Explicit mode and Implicit mode channel assignment. Explicit mode systems include all information needed to determine voice frequencies on the control channel. For Explicit mode systems, leave all entries blank. The system will automatically detect the band plan and fill in the entries. You must supply the system's band plan for Implicit systems for the scanner to correctly determine voice frequencies. Scroll to 'Edit Band Plan' and press E/
scroll.gif
.
At 'Select Plan' scroll to 'Band Plan 0-9/A-F' and press E/
scroll.gif
.
At 'Input Base Freq' enter the base frequency and press E/
scroll.gif
.
At 'Input Spacing' enter the step size and press E/
scroll.gif
.
Scroll to the next band plan and repeat for each band plan as needed.
Press 'Menu' to return.
For Custom (rebanded) Motorola Systems (Requires firmware 3.00 or newer) allows you to create a custom band plan for rebanded systems. Custom band plans require that you enter both a lower and an upper base frequency value. The lower base frequency (or base) is always the base frequency as provided in the Radio Reference Database. Use this Excel spreadsheet to calculate the upper base frequency value: CustomBandPlanCalculator.xls. If you don't have Excel you can download and install a viewer here. If you don't have the lower base frequency value, the Trunked Radio Systems User’s Page has an explanation on how to find it. Look for 'Determining Base and Offset Frequencies for the BC245xlt'by John C. Scroll to 'Edit Band Plan' and press E/
scroll.gif
.
At 'Select Plan' scroll to 'Band Plan 1-6' and press E/
scroll.gif
.
At 'Input Base Freq' enter the base frequency and press E/
scroll.gif
.
At 'Input Spacing' enter the step size and press E/
scroll.gif
.
Scroll to the next band plan and repeat for each band plan as needed.
Press 'Menu' to return and repeat for each band plan as needed.
Press 'Menu' to return.

For standard Motorola 800 MHz rebanded systems you need to set Band Plan 1 and Band Plan 2 as follows:

Band Plan Lower Base Freq Upper Base Freq Offset Polarity Spacing
1
851.025 854.000 440 + 25 kHz
2
851.0125 868.9875 0 + 25 kHz

Just was wonder Bob, dose it matter if the 25khz spacing isn't set up for all?
I also agree that doing it with Freescan is much easier! :)
